Regional statistical project for ENP-South countries

ENP-South countries faced challenges in strengthening their statistical systems and in communicating official statistics effectively to policymakers, media and the public. A structured and needs-based capacity development approach was required.

Artemis conducted an in-depth needs analysis and defined SMART pedagogical objectives tailored to partner countries. The team refined existing training courses, developed new modules on key statistical topics, introduced Webex as a virtual community management tool and implemented a comprehensive training-of-trainers programme, with a strong focus on Communication for Statistics and media relations.

The programme strengthened statistical capacities and communication skills across ENP-South countries through large-scale training and technical assistance. Artemis delivered 1,823.5 expert work-days, including training-of-trainers initiatives and digital learning tools. The project contributed to more sustainable knowledge transfer and improved cooperation between partner countries and the EU.
