Consultancy on Merchandise Trade Statistics – 10th EDF / STATS

CARICOM Member States lacked sufficient capacity to produce, analyse and disseminate high-quality merchandise trade statistics to support the establishment and monitoring of regional economic policies. Capacity gaps existed at both national and regional levels.

Artemis strengthened the capacity of National Statistical Institutes and the CARICOM Regional Office to produce, disseminate and analyse merchandise trade statistics. The work focused on improving statistical processes and data quality.

The project led to measurable improvements in the quality, consistency and usability of merchandise trade statistics across CARICOM Member States. Artemis delivered 160 expert work-days, strengthening both national statistical institutes and the CARICOM Regional Office. As a result, policymakers gained access to more reliable trade data to support regional economic integration and monitoring.
