Development of Sustainable Development Goals

Luxembourg required an updated set of national sustainable development indicators aligned with the 2030 Agenda and the National Plan for Sustainable Development. Existing indicators needed to be reviewed in terms of relevance, data availability and consistency with international indicator frameworks.

Artemis conducted a comprehensive review of existing indicators and compared them with other relevant national and international indicator lists. The work included stakeholder consultations, assessment of indicator appropriateness and identification of discontinued indicators, potential future indicators and new proposed indicators. Metadata and calculation series were developed for the new indicators.

The project delivered an updated and structured set of sustainable development indicators aligned with the 2030 Agenda and national priorities. Existing indicators were clarified, discontinued indicators were identified and new indicators were proposed with accompanying metadata. The results provide Luxembourg with a robust and transparent framework to monitor and report progress on sustainable development.
